Post-Irma Recovery

Post Irma Recovery

St. Maarten and Port Canaveral, Fla.

Ardent completed wreck removal operations on St. Maarten in mid-November, and successfully cleared more than 30 vessels.

Furthermore, the U.S. Coast Guard appointed Ardent under the BOA (Basic Ordering Agreement) for the clearing of approximately 25 vessels at Port Canaveral, along the East Coast of Florida.

Ardent has commenced work to remove yachts, trawlers, houseboats, and more, with a 225 ton crane barge.

“With our U.S. offices in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and Houston, Texas, we saw the destructive force of the 2017 hurricane season,” said Bernard van Haeringen, Ardent Contract Manager.

“Some wrecks that we are currently working to clear are in the manatee habitat in Florida, and we plan to complete our operations with minimal disturbance to the wildlife, “ said van Haeringen.

The salvage company expects to continue operations through December.

Vessels piled up in St. Maarten after Hurricane Irma. Ardent cleared a portion of the wreckage on the Caribbean nation, and in the surrounding areas.
